On September 30, 2026, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac announced a temporary policy exception for lenders who need more time to finish their UAD 3.6 implementation. The November 2, 2026 mandate is still in effect. Lenders who need more time may request an exception from both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. That may give appraisers some relief while they get used to the new UAD 3.6 format.
